This study is an attempt to analyze the nature of Self in one of Miller’s most acclaimed plays, A View from the Bridge . The analysis focuses on the private self and the public self by giving a brief comparison of Miller’s Death of a salesman, The crucible and All my Sons . The study will first have a brief look at the nature of self in Miller’s earlier plays to reach a better understanding of the depth of self in his A view from the Bridge , which is the focal point of this study.
