Traditional Chinese Culture includes many ecological ideas. This paper studies about some characteristics of them in three aspects. First, the feature that man is an integral part of nature in Traditional Chinese Culture provides potential foundation for harmonic coexistence of man and nature. Second, the concept of “the axes and bills enter the hills and forests only at the proper time” in Traditional Chinese Culture provides a rational basis for harmonic coexistence of man and nature.
