The paper presents examples of the functionalities of the lidar that is used in the automotive industry for advanced driving assistance systems. Firstly, a brief overview of lidar technology and an introduction to communication that is built on a CAN bus is presented. Then, the lidar that was selected for the tests is described along with the principles of how it works and its startup conditions.
