Just over a week ago Dick Schultz resigned as the Executive Director of the NCAA, a position he has held since 1987. Schultz has been called a leader in the reform of Intercollegiate Athletics and has changed the public image of the NCAA. His resignation was prompted by the fact that the NCAA had found rules violations in the University of Virginia athletic program during the Dick Schultz years as Athletic Director there. Virginia has been placed on two years probation
