A quantitative-descriptive study was conducted to determine the relationship between selected work related factors and their impact on job satisfaction/dissatisfaction, and the high turnover rates of nurse assistants in long-term care facilities. Herzberg’s Motivation/Hygiene Theory was used as the theoretical model. The sample consisted of 152 nurse aides employed in 10 randomly selected nursing homes in Denver, Colorado. Data were analyzed by frequency counts, chi-square distributions, and multiple regression analysis.
