P(論文)Writing researchers have been making efforts to explore the nature of writing process, particularly from the perspective of cognitive psychology. Such attempts to make a comprehensive model of the writing process are valuable as an appropriate springboard for further inquiries. In this article, then, four representative models, including Flower & Hayes (1981), are surveyed and discussed. The models are similar because they emphasize the function of reading, triggered by metacognition, and revision. Unfortunately, however, the function of this reading is not fully elucidated, and, moreover, all of the components that work in the writing process are narrowly circumscribed within the individual.
