This research investigates the relationship between the most important rotary drilling oil well control training program and developing safety leadership skills among onshore and offshore drilling crews. The findings of this study indicate that this technical training program appears to improve safety leadership skills in well control situations. The results also suggest that these safety leadership skills could be transferred to other drilling and well operations, although there is some disagreement on the degree of possible transfer
