The aim of this study was to investigate the potential effects of the consolidation on the accreditation standards of North Georgia College & State University and Gainesville State College. Twenty-one interviews were conducted between the faculties of both institutions (representing eight different programs) to assess faculty expectations of the effects of the consolidation within various departments. Interviews were also used to gather information about the relevant accrediting bodies and their requirements. Although the current knowledge base of the consolidation process is limited, there were no definitive answers to the questions posed in the interviews.
