Social Theory of Takaaki Yoshimoto (4) Theory on Psychological Phenomena as a Primary Theory

This paper aims to show contents and essential points of the theory on psychological phenomena created by Takaaki Yoshimoto who is one of the greatest men of thought in the period of post-war Japan,confirm the position of it in the post- war Japnaese history of ideas, and depict the contour of social theory of objectification which can be constructed on the primary theory provided by Yoshimoto’s insights into human nature. First, through examining contents and essential points of the theory on psychological phenomena, we can find that theoretical basic concept can be expressed as objectification, which integrates two processes of objectifying in time and space. Second, the short hisotory of discussion on Yoshimoto’s theory on psychological phenomena is written as my personal history of reading Yoshimoto’s books and reviews of them. Yoshimoto’s theory on psychological phenomena has not been valued enoughly as the foundation of social theory in the post-warJapnaese history of ideas. Third, the contour of social theory of objectification which can be constructed on the primary theory provided by Yoshimoto’s insights into human nature is depicted.
