Anthony Giddens, who is a modern British sociologist, has written many books, and his latest books are The Consequences of Modernity (1990) and Modernity and Self-Identity (1991). This paper aims to introduce the contours of Giddens\u27theory of modernity, show its theoretical significance, and probe in the possibilities of revising and developing it. First, the theoretical construction of his theory of modernity is depicted as explaining the connections between life politics and its background.
