<Original Papers>Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Studies on the Complexes of Sulfhydryl Ligands

NMR spectra of the complexes formed by sulfhydryl ligands, such as xanthate, dithiophosphate, thiophosphate and dithiocarbamate were measured, and the chemical shifts of ^1H and ^P and the coupling constants were examined from the viewpoint of the coordination. The long-range coupling between ^1H and ^P was observed in dithiophosphato and thiophosphato complexes. The chemical shifts were found to be insensitive to the metal ions in the complexes. The ^1H-spectrum of bis (diethyldithiophosphinato) nickel (II) complex, Ni ((C_2H_5)_2PS_2)_2,was assigned on reference to the spectrum of the disulfide, ((C_2H_5)_2PS_2)_2 and a strong coupling was observed between ^1H and ^P in this complex
