The possibility of beneficiation by means of magnetic separation of a low-grade iron ore containing pyrite, pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite for blast furnace has been investigated. The results obtained are as follows : - (1) The contents of sulphide minerals and their sulphur grades in the products of magnetic separation of the sample of ore from Santa Ines, the Phillipines, were measured under the microscope and determined by means of chemical analysis. (2) The degrees of liberation of sulphide minerals in the products of magnetic separation were measured.
