The size distribution of agglomerates formed in the process of green pelletization was analysed by means of the size function, as the growing resistance of green pellets, introduced by defining, [numberical formula] where Si is the specific surface of the pellet of ith species and N_ the corresponding number of pellets. μ_ is assumed to be a fuction of the specific surface of the pellets and other factors as follows : [numberical formula] where a and b are the constants and c is a parameter. The size distribution of green pellets formed in a laboratory pelletizing drum was found to be in good agreement with the formula obtained by integrating equation (2) by putting c=2.
