Since the process to treat the iron-rich laterite ore which is available to the iron production has come to be of interest, it is necessary to eliminate a small amount of nickel oxide in ore. As indicated in this title, this study investigates various fundamental factors of ammonia leaching of nickel from the iron-rich laterite ore. As for obtaining the maximum extraction of nickel, the reducibility of nickel oxide is determined. Experimentally it is found that the best condition under which the iron ore is reduced to either magnetite or wustite is that at temperature of about 750 to 800℃
