In the conventional metallothermic reduction of titanium chloride, it is difficult to control the location of titanium deposit. On the other hand, the use of long-range electronically mediated reaction (LR-EMR) appears to hold promise in reducing such difficulty by controlling the location of titanium deposit during reduction. In the previous investigation, there was limitation for effective control of the deposit location because the reaction was controlled by on/off switch. In this study, effective location control of titanium deposit was tested by utilizing external power supply. An electrochemical characteristics of the LR-EMR cell was also investigated.
