Structural study of amorphous iron-phosphorus alloys has been carried out at three different compositions ranging from 20 to 25 at% Phosphorus by X-ray diffraction. The characteristics of the diffraction patterns are similar to those of other amorphous binary transition metal-metalloid alloys, so that the split second peak and the subsidiary peak appear on the high angle side of the first peak in the partial structure factor of metal-metalloid pairs. The calculation has been also done in terms of the dense random packing model of binary hard spheres (the binary DRPHS model). A qualitative agreement is found between experimental results and calculation
