From the other seashore: the migration experience of Spanish people in United States. 1880-1930

Este trabajo se inscribe en el estudio de los movimientos migratorios hacia el continente americano. Geográficamente abordaremos la emigración de la población española a los Estados Unidos de Norteamérica, uno de los aspectos menos estudiados hasta la actualidad, ya que predominan los trabajos sobre la emigración española hacia Latinoamérica, debido a su mayor importancia poblacional. Cronológicamente, nuestro estudio se inscribe entre el último tercio del siglo XIX y el comienzo de los años treinta del siglo XX. Además de las causas que llevaron a nuestros compatriotas a emigrar, analizaremos la experiencia vital de los mismos.This work analyzes one of the migration movements to American continent. Geographically we study the migration of Spanish people to the United States. This is one of the facet fewer studied until today, because the most of the Spanish inmigrants went to South America. Chronologically, this work analyzes the migration between the end of the XIX century and the beginning of the XX century. In addition, we study the causes of the migrations and the vital experiencie of our compatriots
