Experiments were performed in the presence of some addition agents such as glue or strontium, barium and calcium and the effects of these agents on the coprecipitation of lead and manganese were exmained. Glue is unfavorable because it covers the surface of manganese dioxide and prevents lead from precipitating. The effects of strontium on lead precipitation are affected little by manganese slime. Barium is affected obviously in the range in which both the amounts of barium salt added and manganese dioxide produced are relatively small. Under this conditions the effects of barium is largely reduced because of the adsorption of barium by manganese dioxide. The effects of manganese slime come back in the form of further increase in its amount...
