Raman spectra of systems of a few alkyl chlorides and liquid ammonia were measured at room temperature. The results obtained were as follows : (1) The ν_3 vibration of carbon tetrachloride was affected by mixing with liquid ammonia, resulting the change of the relative intensity of the doublet caused by the Fermi-resonance. (2) As for the chloroform, each of the Raman lines of C-H stretching and C-H bending vibrations separated into two lines. This fact shows the formation of a complex between chloroform and ammonia. Assuming that this complex is formed in one-to-one ratio, its association constant was measured. Its value was about 1.2 in mole fraction unit.
