In continuation of the work reported previously, photometric determination of micro-quantities of tin in iron and steel was investigated by using sodium diethyldithiocarbamate. Tin was separated from a large amount of iron by coprecipitation with manganese dioxide as reported previously, and then the photometric determination was made after extracting tin as its diethyldithiocarbamate complex with an organic solvent. Using 1 g of sample, the determination of 0.001 per cent content of tin was possible by this method
