The longitudinal magnetostriction in magnetic fields up to 900 oersteds of about fifty, annealed, nickel-cobalt alloys have been measured with an optical-lever method and the dependency of the magnetostriction upon the composition, magnetic field, and intensity of magnetization has been thoroughly investigated. Uncertainties remained in previous investigations were clarified, and moreover some new facts were found
