Arsenic in iron, steel and iron ores was determined without any complicated apparatus or procedure. Arsenic in them was separated off as metallic arsenic in a hydrochloric acid solution with sodium hypophosphite by an aid of copper catalyser, the precipitated metallic arsenic was filtered with a Gooch crucible and dissolved in an excess of a standard iodine solution, and the excess of the iodine solution was titrated back with a standard sodium thiosulfate solution. By this method arsenic analysis of iron, steel and iron ore was made very correctly
