High-resolution photoemission spectroscopy on various intermetallic uranium compounds has been performed to study the electronic structure near Ep as well as the essential character of U 5felectrons. As a result, we found two peak structures originating in the dual character of U 5felectrons. From the comparison between several compounds where strong different character of U 5felectrons has been expected, we conclude that the itineracy of U 5f electrons appears as narrow U 5fbands hybridized with conduction s, p, d electrons, whereas the broad U 5fmultiplet structures below E_F originates in the localized character of the U 5felectron.
