The aim of this paper is to criticize the theoretical rupture between State and Market ordinarily proposed by mon-materialist social scientists. Besides, we show that a materialist alternative to this traditional view is possible, and its fundamentals hove been set by modern theorists of the State, particularly by Poulantzas, Théret and Offe. In our point of view, those three authors went further than their precursors, because they recognized that the State, more than a simple organizer of capitalist production, is itself a producer.
