The Bilayered floating tablets containing famotidine SR and aceclofenac IR were successfully prepared by wet granulation method. • The physiochemical evaluation results for the granules of all trials pass the official limits in angle of repose, compressibility index and drug content. • The prepared granules also maintained the physiochemical properties of tablets such as thickness, hardness, weight variation, friability and drug content. The optimized formulation contains the average thickness of 5.4±0.042, average hardness of 6.4±0.14, average weight of 600±0.56, friability of 0.021 and 99.72% of drug content. • In the 8 trials, the optimized formulation was F4 trial which releases the famotidine in sustained manner similar to the relea...
