BACKGROUND: Microalbuminuria is an entity common to many of the risk factors causing stroke namely Diabetes Mellitus and Systemic Hypertension. However studies are yet to be reported whether it’s a risk factor on its own in the absence of other risk factors. Hence it would be easier to prevent stroke if its presence has been detected early. AIMS OF THE STUDY: 1. To estimate the prevalence of microalbuminuria in non-diabetic acute ischemic stroke. 2. To assess the stroke severity using NIHSS and MODIFIED RANKIN SCALE.
