BACKGROUND: Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is defined by the lack of expression of estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR) and human epidermal growth factor 2 (Her2) expression. It is characterized by distinct clinical, morphological and molecular features and associated with aggressive clinical course and poor prognosis.
