BACKGROUND: The aim of the study is to identify and evaluate the causes of acute pancreatitis and also to identify the severity and the appropriate treatment given to the patients presenting with features of Acute pancreatitis. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Our study includes 100 patients presenting with features of Acute pancreatitis confirmed by Biochemical and radiological investigations. RESULTS: In our study, we have identified that chronic alcohol intake was the most common risk factor associated with Acute pancreatitis in male patients which was 95% of the study population and Gall stones was found to be the most common cause in female patients which was 60% of the study population.
