Significant difference in mean Lipoprotein(a) level was observed between the premature Coronary Artery Disease patients and controls. The mean values of serum Triglycerides, LDL, Total cholesterol, LDL-C, Total-C/HDL-C ratio and LDL-C/HDL-C ratio were found to be higher in premature Coronary Artery Disease patients when compared to controls. In patients with Premature Coronary Artery Disease, higher Lipoprotein(a) levels were observed in female sex, those with family history of Coronary Artery Disease, Smokers, and Diabetics than in male sex, those without family history of Coronary Artery Disease, non-smokers and nondiabetics.
