A solution phase technique was afforded to derive the dipeptide series and it was successfully coupled with benzoxazin-4-one. The final structures of the 2-styryl-3- peptido quinazolinones were proved by spectroscopic techniques. The analgesic activity of some of the synthesized compounds showing signifigant activity compared to standard whereas the antimicrobial activity of the compounds was comparable to standard drugs. In general the 2-styryl substituted quinazolinones expected to be the potent compounds; here the incorporation of the different peptides at the C-3 position may be required to enhance the activity profile.
