Anti Diabetic Activity of Petrolium Ether Extract of Triumfetta Rhomboidea on Streptozotocin Induced Diabetic in Albino Rats.

The presented study is an attempt to investigate the effect of petroleum ether extract of triumfetta rhomboidea on Streptozotocin induced diabetic in albino rats. The Phytochemical study was screening showed the presence of tannins, carbohydrate, Flavonoids, alkaloids, reducing sugar and amino acid which is responsible for the anti diabetic activity. The animals were induced with STZ at a dose of 55mg/kg intraperatoneal and the diabetic animals were treated with triumfetta rhomboidea extract (100, 200, 400mg/kg) for 21 days orally. The serum glucose, body weight lipid profile, liver glycogen were measured from the pancreas homogenate were measured which showed significant activity. The finding of the presence investigation suggests the triumfetta rhomboidea extract has potential for its evaluation as protective agents against toxicity induced by Streptozotocin
