Forty photographs from the series Vanishing Horizons: An Interpretation of the Abandoned Mining Sites of the Upper Peninsula were displayed at the Finlandia University Gallery in the Finnish-American Heritage Center in Hancock, MI. The exhibition included color photographic murals mounted on aluminum plates of abandoned mining landscapes made with a panoramic pinhole camera. Framed black and white photographs of mining machinery and structural details made with a hand-built zone plate camera were interspersed among the murals to present a visual impression of the remnants of the copper and iron mining industry from the 1840s to the 1950s
