Mokkan (Wooden tablets) are valuable materials for history. But it is not easy to utilize them, because they hava less data than manuscripts written on papers. Therefore historians, except those who specialize in ancient history, do not utilize them enough as historical materials. In this paper, I discussed the wooden tablets excavated at Tukumobashi bridge in Fukui Prefecture, and attempted to find a method for the utilizing of wooden tablets of near modern age.departmental bulletin pape
