Balderson was not seeking re-election. There were seven nominations for six positions on Town Council. They included - three incumbents - Norma Pilling, John Brunner and DeVar Dahl. Competing for the three remaining positions are Wayne Harris, Norman Robinson, Robert Tanner and Gerry Baril. Three nominees for two positions on the Hospital Board are incumbents Gerald Leish- man, Neil Bourne and Shirley Saunders. Shirley Saunders was the Del Bonita represent­ative but has taken up residence in the town of Magrath so must seek election in town. Three have been acclaimed for the Mag­rath Hospital Board including Debbie Robin­son in Ward 1, and incumbents James Anderson in Ward 2 and Ellen Stanford in Ward 3. Best man was Gary Wojtowicz and Groomsman was Bob Goulet. Presiding at the guest register were Karen Gibb and Riana Holzwarth, sister of the bride. Following a honeymoon in the U.S. the happy couple will make their home in Lethbridge. Our goal is to expand the music program beyond the outstanding Marching Band that already exists. The "Spirit of Alberta" Marching Band will have new uniforms this year, thanks to previous fund raising support. Our emphasis now will be the purchase of instruments and supplies for the development of' the concert and jazz band programs. The School Division has correnitted funds over the next four years for this purpose. By matching those funds through our own efforts, we can have a fully equipped concert and jazz band program within that time. This would in­clude seme of the essential but expensive in­struments that students do not normally supply such as bassoons, oboes, French horns and bass and contra-bass clarinets. The soon-to-be completed modernization of the band room will provide one of the finest music facilities of any high school in the prov­ince, but a sound system could not be included in the plans.
