He is survived by his wife Edna and five children: Jolayne (Ross) Robinson of Magrath, Lenore (Michael) Cahoon of Rimbey, Melvin (Dianne) of Cardston, Weldon (Margaret) of Raymond, Merrill (Lise) of Magrath. Edna's children: Colleen (Bob) McKean of Lethbridge, Zoe Ann Aki of Raymond, Bob (Gloria) Harker of Winnipeg, Ross (Madeline) Harker of Raymond, Bruce (Joan) Harker of Raymond; 2 sisters: Marie (Fulton) Bevans of Cardston, Norma (Jack) Hallmark of Salt Lake City. He was predeceased by his 1st wife LaDean Passey and 2 brothers: Marvin & Rulon. The funeral took place February 12 with interment in the Magrath Cemetery. ****** The family of the late Earl G. Way to Go!! Shauna will be competing at the Edmonton Provincials in March *keep watching for results. ****** Heather McKelvey recently competed in the "Ice Trek" Figure Skating Competion in Vulcan. She competed in the pre-novice ladies freeskate, juvenile ladies elements, silver artistic solo and senior silver dance solo. She placed second in all four categories to win four silver medals. Also she recently passed 3 gold dance exams. Remembered always Jennie. ******STINGERS UPDATE I bet you parents have been wondering what happened to the recorder for the Stingers, I guess I took a leave of my absent mind but I'm back. Let's go back to the Raymond tourney. Our 1st game was with the Lethbridge Tadpole team. The team from Lethbridge was victorious over our Tadpoles. Our team played hard but just wasn't strong enough. Our 2nd game was with the Raymond Black Hawks. The Stingers played with alot of heart and really worked as a team. The 3rd game was with a new team that we have never seen from Pincher Creek. The parents had scouted out the team and we knew that we could triumph over the team from the windy country. The Stingers started out swift and smooth. We had a bright spot in the game when we saw a new name on the score sheet. Both Amber Foggin and Devon Millward had their 1st goals. Amber Foggin didn't stop there, she got her 2nd as well. Connor Barnett had another hat trick for his league leading pace, Mitch Maxwell added a couple as well, Macld Helgeson dented the twine also. The goaltenders were strong as usual. With Jason Ragen, Conner Barnett, and Chase Helgeson in the net. The tourney in Raymond was a little different in the fact the tournament placed teams in a 1st, 2nd and 3rd placing. Well with our win of 9 - 7 over Pincher in the 3rd game placed our Stingers in 3rd place. WAY TO GO STINGERS!!! The tourney had awards for hard working players, awarded to Conner Barnett and Macki Helgeson. We also had a game on this last Sat. We played the boys from across die Pothole (Raymond). The game was a good one. The whole team played really hard and worked together well. Hie goals were scored by Conner Barnett with 3, Mitch Maxwell - 1, Amber Foggin - 1, Jason Ragan - 2. Tyson Hudson and Amber Foggin also added assists to the score sheet. The final score was a win for the Stingers over die Raymond boys 7-5. Coach Maxwell said that the team really worked well together at the basic level of passing & skating hard together. Over all it was a great weekend and a great win. I would like to take a few lines to say a big Thank You to the coaching staff of the Stingers. They are Greg Maxwell, Brad Helgeson, and Jim Hudson. I watch them at practice & admire their patience & knowledge in helping us raise our hockey kids. THANKS AGAIN TO OUR GREAT COACHERS. Allergy-proof your baby Evidence suggests that if mothers with allergies are careful what they feed their newborns, they may be able to spare their chil­dren the same suffering. “Allergies run in fam­ilies,” says pediatric aller­gist John Strimas, M.D., of Nashville. “When a baby is bom to a parent with aller­gies, the wiring for aller­gies is there, but some­thing has to flip the switch to turn it on. “If you expose a baby to allergens—through what he eats—he’s likely to develop allergies.” Italian researchers had mothers of 394 allergy-prone newborns breast-feed their babies for at least 6 months (since breast milk rarely causes allergic re­actions) and avoid common allergens such as eggs, tomatoes, fish and nuts that could leach into their milk and start up the allergic sensitization. Bot­tle feedings consisted of soy formula, which is less allergenic than cow’s milk. Only 13 percent of the infants treated this way developed allergies com­pared to 55 percent in a control group with no dietary restrictions. BRUSHING BASICS • Place the toothbrush at a 45-degree angle to the gums. • Gently move the brush back and forth in short, half-a-tooth-wide strokes. • Brush the outer surfaces, the inside surfaces and the chewing surfaces of all teeth. • To clean the inside surface of the front teeth, tilt the brush vertically and make several up-and- down strokes. • Brush your tongue to remove bacteria and keep breath fresh. FLOSSING FACTS • Break off about 18 inches of floss. Wind most of it around one of your middle fingers. Wind the rest around the opposite middle finger. • Holding the floss tightly between the thumbs and forefingers, gently insert it between the teeth. e Curve the floss into a “C” shape against the side of the tooth and rub the floss up and down, keeping it pressed against the tooth. Don’t jerk or snap the floss. • Take up the soiled floss on one hand and release an inch of clean floss from the other.
