The Club judged two classes of yearling bulls and one class of yearling heifers before holding the monthly meeting in Bernie Powles­land' s home. President Byron Kosekewich brought the meeting to order with Colleen Hoyt leading in 0 Canada and Vicki Powlesland leading in the 4H pledge. Secretary Eileen Juhasz took roll call and read the previous month’s minutes. Bruce Hillmer gave hi^ treasurers report. _ Leader Charlie Barnett explained different trips, scholarships and contests offered to the members. Bernie Powlesland asked the club to help out at the Annual Hereford Association Field Day held at the McIntyre Ranch on May 24th. Ed Newton thanked the Club for helping canvass for the Red Cross. ’ A short discussion foll­owed . The meeting was adjourned and God Save the Queen was sung.. O’Reilly officiated at the Funeral Mass assisted by Alter Boys David Brunner, Michael Gruninger and Bruce Tricsli. A girls" trio - Thelma Bevers, Linda Brunner and Christine Olsen, led the sing­ing of hymn.s "The Lord Is My Shepherd", "Amazing Grace", "The Lord's Prayer" and "How' Great Thou Art" accompanied by organ­ist Mrs. Irene Gruninger. Honorary Pallbearers were Mike Kosma, Martin Fabian, George Dudas, Julius Stenger Mike Mitch and Mike Schneyder. Active Pallbearers were George Gruninger Eugene Stanek, Benny Francescone, Frank Tricsli, John Brunner and Roy Araki. Mrs. Mary Bauer passed away in Magrath on Tuesday, May 18th at the age of 74 years. She was born in Magyar Polany, Hungary on February 18, 1902. She joined her hus­band Frank Bauer in Magrath in 1956. She was predeceased by her husband Frank in 1965, also by three sons. This meeting was well attended, there being 120 registrations. The resolution protesting the abandonment of Branch Rail Lines was well supported. Mr. Oasie Stubbs, a native of ¡Lethbridge, and prominent business man, was elected President of the Alberta Chamber for the coming year. When field work is completed, a General Meeting of the Magrath Chamber will be called when a full report- of the Annual Meeting will be presented. The meeting is opposed to Boards. & District Chamber of Government Magrath Commerce. Mrs. Ethel Braithwaite, accomJsaning Mr. and Mrs. L. Fisher, Calgary, and Mrs. Andy Granberg of Warner, is home after a -very enjoyable vacation in the. British Isles and France, guests of Dr. & Mrs. James Pisher of London, England. BEEF STEAKS TOP “ROUND/ BONELESS SIDE BACON ROUND/ TENDER SLICED OR PIECE . ■ .................. • » ■ Funeral services for the late Kenneth Hillmer, beloved son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hillmer, who passed away May 18th at the age of 21 years, were held in St. John's Lutheran Church Thursday afternoon May 20th. The church was filled to overflowing with friends and relatives who came to pay their last respects. Pastor L. Dressier officiated at the service. Ushers were John Weing and Frank Navratil. Attend­ing the memorial registers were Grace Navratil and Norma Owens. Mrs. Delores Mueller presided at the organ and accompanied the congregation in the singing of the hymns "What A Friend We Have In Jesus", "Rock of Ages", and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives'*. The funetal address was given by Pastor Dressier. Pallbearers were Monty Paul, Rick Hillmer, Rick Ponomar, Bruce Thurston, Richard Berlando and Lloyd Balderson. Interment took place in the family plot. Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge. Harry 0. Bly passed away in Clares-holm on Saturday, May 22nd at the age ■of 86 years. ’ Born in Ireton, Iowa, he came to Canada in 1908 and to Magrath in 1921 where he was engaged in the freight business. In 1931 he started farming which he worked at until 1951 when he was employed with Alberta Canning Co., retiring in 1963. He had resided in Claresholm for the past 6 years. Survivors include three sons, Douglas of Magrath, Dean and Roy of Lethbridge; two daughters Mrs..Wm. (Dorothy) Wocknitz and Mrs. Ted (Betty) Clifton both of Magrath; thirty three grandchildren, fifty seven great grandchildren, three sisters. He was predeceased by his first wife Irene in July, 1952, a son Dale in 1962 and by his second wife Lilly Root in January, 1975. Funeral services were held this Wednesday afternoon, May 26th, in the Magrath L.D.S. Chapel with Bishop Tyler Alston officiating. Interment took place in Archmount Memorial Gardens, Lethbridge. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Sheridan of Calgary accompanied by her son Reg James and friend of Vancouver B.C. were Magrath visitors during the holiday weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Brandvoid and jirs. Marie Gillet of Calgary fere among the out-of-town relatives attending the funeral service of the latte Ken Hill-aer. They also visited with their mother Mrs. Nettie Hillmer.
