He moved to unti 1 Mrs . Friday, years. N o rn Nov , 9, and settled Magrath in 1941 where he farmed his pass ing. Besides his wife he is survived by one son Donald Glen (Linda) of Monarch; one daughter Olga Rose (Anthony/[- Klein of Regina, Sask.; three grand /a children, Tanya, Paul and Douglas of Ji Regina; three brothers and one sister vf all of Czechoslovakia. - Funeral services were held in the Magrath L.D.S. Chapel Monday, March 29th with Bishop Tom Karren officiating. The family prayer was offered by George Spencer. Mrs. Maude Ririe presided at the organ for the prelude. Ushers were Blaine Norton and Herbert Ehlert. Mrs, Hazel Dick attended the memorial book. The opening hymn by the choir was ”0 My Father". Lloyd Sabey offered the invocation. A Male Quartet - L. B. Tanner, Byng Beazer. Cal 'Alston and Eldon Colenvan sang "Beyond the Sunset" The biography was given by son-in-law Anthony John Klein. A reading "I Follow a Noble Father" by Emma McKay was given by son Donald Hurkot with daughter-in-law Linda Hurkot also giving a reading. Closing remarks were by Bishop Karren, The closing hymn by the choir was "I Need Thee Every Hour". Organist was Alma Davies and chorister was Gary Stringam. Benediction was offered by Lloyd Meldrum. The postlude was a vocal duet "I Will Never Forget You" by grandchildren Tanya and Paul Klein unaccompanied. Honorary Pallbearers were Fred Famenow Phil Carter, Lamar Bennett. Active Pallbearers were Blair Sabey Bill Stoochnoff, Cliff Miller, John Simala, Anthony John Klein, Peter S t oo chno f f. James Louis (Bill) Hoyt passed away in Del Bonita March '’3rd, 1982 at the age of 63 years. Born May 19, 19 ■18 at Kimball Alberta, he had farmed in Del Bonita all his life. He was active in comm­unity affairs and had been a member of the Cardston Municipal Hospital Board for 16 years, the years as Board Chairman, well respected by h im the last several He was everyone who knew and will be greatly missed communi ty. Left to mourn his passing are loving wife Joyce; four daughters , Debra Brenda Lee of his Wanda Stryker of Coaldale Turnbull of Del Bonita, of Edmonton and Colleen Joy Lethbridge; six grandchildren Christy, Cameron and Kimberly Turn­bull, Candace and Timothy Stryker and Jessie Hoyt; one sister Helen Wheeler of Dearborn, Michigan; one brother Tom Hoyt of Del Bonita. Funeral services were held in the South Hill Chapel, Cardston on Friday, March 26th with Rev. Robert Schwab officiating. Interment took place in the Cardston Cemetery. Well tailored in popular style of season. thfe the Herman Rudolph Olson, be­loved husband of Mrs. Margaret Olson, passed away in Magrath Tuesday, March 23rd, 1982 at the age of 63 years. Born, riased and educated in Assinaboia, Sask., he moved to East End, Sask, in 1942 and in 1951 came to the Cardston area. The Olson family moved to Magrath in 1957 where he resided until his passing. Besides his loving wife he is survived by two sons Robert of Claresholm, William of Magrath; three daughters, Mrs. L. (Louise) Bengry of Magrath, Mrs. Shirley Kinrtey of Prince George, B.C, and Mrs. M. (Christine) Kain of Taber; three sisters; five brothers; nine grandchildren and one great grand­child. The bride was attend-sisters Marva Saito, Dorothy Piek-ema, Lois Pratt and Joan Lubbers. Nieces Carla Pratt and Jacquie Pomerleau were flower girls and nephew Dennis Pratt was ring bearer. Grant Dudley escorted his daughter down the aisle to the strains of Lohengrin’s Wedding March played by nine year old Jerry Pratt, nephew of the bride. The groom was attended by his brothers Marcel, Pierre and Marc, and Don Wheeler., Bishop Robert West performed the wedding ceremony in the presence of many relatives and friends. Roger and Heather Kunkel sang "I Pledge My Love" during the signing of the register. A family dinner and program followed. During the evening the bridal party accompanied by their parents, Grant and Hazel Dudley, Roland and Antionette Pom­erleau, greeted the many friends who came to extend best wishes. A very special day was brought to a’close with a wedding dance which was enjoyed by all. After a honeymoon in Hawaii, the happy couple will make their home in Edmonton. < The Magrath Public Library would like to acknowledge the recent donations of the following books to the Library. The committee is confident that we will get the required funds and have decided to proceed with ordering the equipment. Please keep in mind that this is a community club and only those with member­ships will be able to receive the 4 new channels. The cost is very little compared to what cablevision would be. The $150 is the total cost of the service, not a yearly charge. We may assess members a' small maintenance fee occasionally but this is something to work out later. A good crowd of relatives and friends were on hand to enjoy,’ applaud, and en­courage the. dancers from the wee little beginners to the sophisticated teen agers. Poland was the country honored. A variety of Scottish tunes called up toes tapping, fingers point ing, heads nodding and kilts swirling of ernest concentration and happy smiles. It was especially nice to and Jimmie Beres was awarded the best Pas de basques ever by a beginner. For a change from dancing, Don and his "Happy Wanderers", Todd Kendr Donald Ririe and Dennis Strong, .sang out, and Kathy Weing delighted all with her accordian. The Irish Dancers from Lethbridge young dancers and mothers, were a welcome addition to our local talent. A beautiful plaque was presented to Alice on behalf of her pupils to express their thanks and appreciation for her tireless efforts, encourage­ment and time spent throughout the year. To this should be added the thanks of the entire community. Her teachers this year were Nancy Brunner Carrie Marsden, Karen Lowry, J enee' Kelly Bogden, Vynet Miller, Shannon and Dan Moors. The Treble Makers will perforin these two festival numbers and others April 30 th at the Bi-Stake Fireside, to be held at -the Raymond Stake Center. Call after 3 p.m. The German Canadian Club of Calgary happily inform us that Miss Kathy Weing was at their March 19, 1982 official sod-turning ceremony for the 102 Unit Senior Citizen Housing development (to cost over $6,000,000) at which over 100 invited guests took part. Miss Kathy Weing opened the ceremony by playing both the Canad­ian and German National Anthems and provided musical entertainment from 3 to 7 p.m, for the guests. Some of the guests included the Hon. C. Caccia, MP, the Minister of Labour, The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of West Germany, the General Consul of the Federal Republic of West Germany, Mayor R. Klein of Calgary and a number of aidermen and prominent citizens. Everyone was impressed with Kathy’s talents . (Bill Schultz, Director of Public Relations).
