The first game was played against Cardston ending in a 3-3 tie. Scoring for Magrath were Stephen Veale, Scott Johnson and Tylor Harris with a goal apiece, Scott Johnson and Cam Owens each with 1 assit. The second game was played against the bravest of the mothers with the final score - Tadpoles 1, Mothers 0. The monthly meeting was held Feb. 13th, Magrath Sheep Club were guests. Public Speaking was March 13th with Todd Carter winning first place for Seniors, Ronald Henry winning second. Juniors was won by Street Helgeson and Hale Carter. March’s monthly meeting was held on the 7th. A judging was held at Jorgensen’s on March 31st. The April meeting will be held on the 7th with a district skating party the same day. A wonderful heart-warming audience, Alice Stevenson and the Magrath McGregor Highlanders gave Sheri Davies and Don Moors a standing ovation following their final "Farewell Waltz" during this year's Ceildhe. Jan McCulloch sang a specially written song for the pair following which Alice presented them each with a plaque for "Excellence in Highland Dance". Sheri & Dan have taught for Alice for s number of years. Good luck in your future endeavors. ' blankets, etc. Magrath 11th Annual Ceilidh was held Friday March 30th with over 50 students participating. Minuet dancers representing France, led the dancers. A Scottish Piper, Joe Brewster, and a drummer, Dan Moors, piped the Magrath MacGregor Highlanders. Following the sing­ing of "0 Canada" Jan McCulloch, accompan­ied by Sharon Sam, sang "The Ceilidh" writt­en by Alice Stevenson with music arranged by Alma Davies. The 8,9 and 10 year olds danced the "Highland Fling". First place medals were awarded to Jamie Beres and Leela Zobell. Fourteen tiny dancers then performed "The Magrath Minuet" accompanied by Alma Davies and Lori Braithwait. A chorus, Deanna Moors, Tricia, Trina & Jenny Kerr, sang as they danced. The Senior "Highland Fling" was performed and first place medals were presented to Trina Kerr, Tricia Foote, Rhonda Sillito and Mary Lou Davis. Rachelle Closson and Rochelle Chipman got second place medals and Billy Jo Whitt the most improved student. "Sailors on Parade" gave a demonstration of marching followed by the "Sword Dance". s A new number "The Bramble Bush" was follow­ed by the "Minuet". The teachers then danced "The Sean Triubbas". Jan McCulloch sang "My Ain Folk" and the cousins Sheri and Mary Lou Davies performed "The Gaelic Waltz". Teachers Jennifer Cook, Nicole Deering, Rhonda & Janice Sillito danced "Call O’ the Heather". Following another performance by the Sailors the final number was a "Farewell Waltz" danced by Sheri Davies and Dan Moors with Jan McCulloch singing "Will Ye No Come Back Again" with orig­inal words, to these two retiring dancers. Presentations were made,, the "Lamb Skinnett performed and certificates presented to each dancer. ‘ Truly, a delightful evening.
