Drown officiating were well attended. In commencement the choir under the direction of H. C. Pouiien and Vinessa Hamilton rendered, "Recessional," Scripture Reading by Tom Morrow, a Violin-cello rendition of "Finlandia" by Nyal Fletch­er and Marjorie Dalderson, hccompanied by Mrs. J. A. Ririe, followed. J. T. Steele offered prayer. Rev, H. Pentland spoke convincingly on "The Duties of Canadians." A closing number by the choir and benediction by Dishop Emerson Blurael, concluded.', the fine program. The services then continued at the Cen-itaph where Jim Blutnel gave a short speech, "The Last Post" was played and the "One-Min­ute Silence" was observed by the veterans and congregation. Prayer was given by Clyde 5, Spencer. The many beautiful wreaths which were carried by school students were placed around the memorial. Mr. S Mrs. Jack Bridge Jr. and sons have taken up residence in Lethbridge where he is employed. . On November 3rd the First Ward Mutual presented a full night of drama in the As-embly Hall. A good crowd turned out to see a program full of variety and talent. High­light of the evening was a 40 minute play from ShakespearA*s Midsummer Night’s Dreami This play, directed by Myrtle Smith, kept the audience interested and laughing contin­ually. George Hamilton, Franklin Smith, Malcolm Bridge, Grant Wheeler and Don Law were the stars who made Shakespeare live for an appreciative audience. Three blackouts were also presented starring Jim Blumel, Walter Brown, Freda Fletcher, Loreen Brewerton,. Ken Gibb and Gean Wheeler. In addition to the plays there were musicals and dramatic numbers not soon to be forgotten. There was a solo by L. N. Tanner, 2 numbers by the Music Club, a portrayal of Shylock from the "Merchant of Venice" by Franklin Smith, an instrumental number by Bessie Taylor and a »omi» reading by Barbara Anderson. Born in England, Mrs. Hillmer came to Soutts in 1920, and in the same year moved to Magrath where she lived until the‘time of her death. Mrs. Olive Heap -was guest of honour at her 90th birthday party, when many friends and relatives called to congratu­late her at her home, Wednesday afternoon, Nov, 11th. She was the recipient of a profusion of beautiful flowers and gifts. Immediate members of her family who were present for the occasion were Mre. Merlhds, Wyman of Bellingham, Washington; Mr. & Mrs. H. L. Bassett, Mr. & Mrs. Mont Bassett and two children Sandra and Judy of Cody, Wy­oming; Mr. & Mrs. J. J. In the evening all the family includ­ing the grandchildren and great grandchild­ren enjoyed a birthday supper and films. Thd Christian Reformed Church in Leth­bridge was the scene recently of the mar­riage of Rosie Aartje Gouw, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. A. Gouw, and Carl Frank Navratil, son of Mrs. F, Navratil of Magrath, Rev. Rev. J. B. Scholten performed the ceremony and the bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a satin gown with a long train, three quarter length veil and lace trimmings and carried a bouquet of red roses and white carnations. The bride's attend­ant’ s were Annie Navratil as Maid of Honour, Tonie Gouw as Bridesmaid, Audrey Gouw and Shirley Hillmer acted as tra inbearers. George Navratil was bestman and John Gouw was usher. Mrs. A, Gouw chose a gray after­noon dress and Mrs. Navratil wore a green nylon afternoon frock. About 75 people attended the dinner and reception which was held in the evening at the home of Mr. A Mrs. A. Gouw. Miss Marj­orie Saga was in charge of the Guest Book. The bride and groom spent their honey­moon in various points in Alberta, before making their home in Magrath, Out of town guests were from Natal, B.C, Bellevue, Gran-um, Lethbridge, Coaldale, Raymond and Spring Coulee. - A.G. A Farewell Party honouring Mr. & Mrs. Russel Rice was held at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Wayne Robinson Saturday evening.
