Wednesday, April 17th Mr, & Mrs, Ben Matkin went to Taber to attend the wedding reception of Miss Yvonne Wood, daughter of Mr, & Mrs, Harold Wood of Taber, On their " return they stopped in Lethbridge to visit their daughter, Mrs. Mary Tuftland............... Mr, & Mrs, Garth Harker of Del Bonita were Magrath visitors over the holiday week end,,,.,, Jay Hamilton is a Calgary visitor,,. A 'Wedding of wide interest took place at the Cardston Temple Wednesday, April 17th when Miss Beth Johnson, daughter of Mr, & Mrs. Leith JShnson of Barnwell and Mr, Price Gibb, son of Mr, & Mrs. W. H. Gibb of Magrath were united in holy matrimony. Pres. E,J, Wood performed the ceremony. Attending the wedding party Were Mr, & Mrs. James Bridge and Mrs. A. M. Merkley of Magrath, A wedding reception was held at the Johnson home at Barnwell on Thursday when about 100 friends and relatives were present, A very interesting program was enjoyed and a delicious supper Was served. Mr, & Mrs, W. H. Gibb and chil­dren William, Jill and Ethel; and Mrs. a. M. Merkley attended from Magrath, Price and his bride will reside in Edmon' ton where he is attending University. The culture, similar to yeast, enables broad to stay on the pan­try shALf for weeks and remain as fresh when opened as the day it left the oten. The alraost-magic qualities of the culture have been measured and determined over a period of six months and the bakery which has de­veloped it is now giving other bakeries throughout the country an opportunity to improve thoir products. It is claimed that the new culture not only improves the taste and gives a finer texture but also keeps the bread free from mould, regardless of humidity or temperature. As the Lion members arri­ved the tail-twisters maHe them up with roug’e and lipstick and placed ladies’ hats on them at appropriate angles. Lioness C.S. Matkin called the meeting to order after which Lion Earl Tanner offered grace. Aprons were given to several Lions and told that they would be the "waitresses" for the supper, which was tastefully pre­pared under the direction of Mrs. C. S. II*' Eldon Coleman was "the only representat­ive from the M.a.A.A. jn the Provincial Boxing Finals at’ Cardston this weekend. What Magrath lacked in numbers was made up for in quality. In the finals for the light-weight championship, Coleman knock­ed Wagner from Edmonton out in the second round, Wagner is a well-known fighter and has been Provincial champion in several different classes, , / The second night, Eldon knocked out Killentop from Calgary.
