The bride was given in marriage by her father. About one hundred guests attend­ed the reception at the brides home. L. E. Pharis toasted the bride, the gr om replied. His topic will be Workings of Price Support Board,,..........FERTILIZERS —— Horace Greely reoeived a letter from a woman asking if he put fertilizer on his potatoes. He wrote back that he preferred gravy. George Navratil says it’s a great year for fertilizer. For years he was high pressured by Sugar Co. officials to take fertilizer when he signed his beet con­tract, Over the years he planted two rows of beets with fertilizer and two without. Never could see any difference George planted John Austin’s beets on land being ruin-farms could again April 30th. Saturday wo sons were finish­ing the last of 25 acres. They run out of fertilizer on the last acre. Beets eight inches high on 24 acres, one inch on the last acre (no fertilizer)* John attributes it to the heavy rains - which dissolved the pellets. Ken Hindley had his eyes opened. He ad­mits John has the best beets. Next year he wants some fertilizer. Most of these be made to pay the taxes if used for pasture. (Dairy cows). But what kind of grass will grow on land continually under water? Take for example the (dirty ten), east of the Beet Piler, This ten Afcras was once an alfalfa field, now a lake bottom, and only fox-tail will grow there* If it isn’t the Town's or the Municipality’s responsiblity then the people affected should do jX something about it. What other community every time it rains would stand idly by and see 1/3 the town under water. Three horses on a sulky plow could open up a lot of drains around town. Water that -is now undermining the roads and filling basements. Small 2x4 wooden culverts, Borne a foot too low and others too high are not much help in a drain ditch.................. Elige Bourne: "Did your horse die?" Chas. Ackroyd: "Not yet." • Elige: "The trouble is with her water.” Charles: " No, I don’t think so. She’a constipated," Elige:"What makes you think so." ChBrles:"I had a Vet out last night." Elige: "I never heard of a horse being constipated eating green grass." Charles: "Well the Vet said It was caused by her teeth. Thej|need floating. He also gave her a heart stimulant," Elige: "How old is she?" Charles: "She was 16 years old when I got her and ?I have had her two years." By-Stander: "Was It that horse you got from Virginia Wilde at Raymond?" Charles: "No, If it was that one (Hot blood) I would have let her die and broke her when she was convalescing." Note: Horses like humans, get in a hurry and holt their food, thus causing indigestion. P.£. Friday she died. The colt is being fed on a bottle. The sire a Palomino owned by Max Bradshaw of Birds Eye. Hoppers are reported West and North of Town. The Sugar City Municipality is slow in setting up its mixing station. She is sur­vived by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Earl Wock­nitz, 2 sisters Yvonne and Linda, a brother Arthur.
