Just prior to last New Year’s Eve, a friend informed his wife that he had invited a few rel atives over to see the New Year in. Present for the evening, he said, would be one grand­mother, one grandfather, two mothers, two fath­ers, 'four children, three grandchildren, one brother, two sisters, two daughters^ two sons, one father-in-law, one mother-in-law and one daughter-in-law. These included, of course, our friend and his wife. He couldn’t under­stand it when his wife threw up her hands and said it was impossible to entertain 23 people. He explained that there would be only seven people at the party. And he was right, of course, wasn’t he? Funeral Services lor the late Mrs. Sarah Jacobs, a^d 75 years, were held Monday afternoon in the First Ward Chapel, with Counsellor Eldon Christensen of the Second Ward Bishopric conducting. The choir which was under the direction of J. Orson Eridge with . Mrs. J. A. Ririe accompanying rendered ’’Sometime We’ll Understand” and ’’Come Ye Disconsol­ate”. J. T. Steele offered the opening prayer, followed by a talk by George Gurney. "Beyond The Sunset” was vocally rendered by Rulon Harker and Mrs. Winnie Ehlert, accompan­ied by Mrs. Vinessa Hamilton. M. Elmer Ririe was the concluding speaker, and Rulon Harker pronounced the benediction. Closing song was "God Be With You.” Pallbearers were son-in-laws and grandsons of the deceased; Dick Osterburg, William Masson, Robert Chalmers of Lethbridge; Bill Masson Jr. of Calgary and Garth Aldrich. Interment took place at the local cemetery with Clyde C. Spencer dedicating the grave. Mrs. Jacobs leaves to mourn her loss her husband, William and three daughters, Mrs. Iris Aldrich of Creston, B.C., Mrs. Edith Osterburg and Mrs. Violet Masson of Lethbridge.
