Monsignor Angelo Rotta as Vatican Diplomat in Bulgaria and Later Papal Nuncio in Hungary saved the lives of thousands of Jews in both countries by issuing false Baptismal certificates, visas to travel to Palestine, and at least 15,000 protective letters as well as establishing Protected Houses in Budapest.
