Glen Perdue was born on September 28, 1897 in Clinton, Ontario to parents James and Elizabeth Perdue. He was raised with siblings, Effea, Mildred, Gladys, Lorne, Cara and Louis. By 1911, the Perdue family had moved west, making their home in Lethbridge, Alberta across from the Victoria Mansions on 3rd Avenue South. At time of enlistment, Glen was working as a clerk for the Simpson Co. Ltd. On September 29, 1915, Glen Perdue enlisted with the 82nd Battalion CEF. Pte Perdue arrived in England on May 29, 1916 aboard the Empress of Britain, and remained in England until embarking for France on July 17, 1916.
