The experiences we have had are recorded here in the fifth annual edition of “Night and Day”. An outstanding event of our graduation year is the realization of a new hospital. This means a great deal not only to the hospital personnel but to the people of Lethbridge and district. As wc contemplate the future and relive the past, the memories of train­ing days will linger for a lifetime. Few of us realized three years ago the friendships that would be ours. Not only with our fellow students but with the doctors, training school staff and supervisors who have aided us along our way. To them we extend our heartfelt thanks for their patience and guidance in preparing us for our roles as graduate nurses. We feel confident that with this foundation, we shall be prepared to uphold the high standard set by our training school. A school of which we are justly proud. Ghaisima+t Three years ago, looking forward to your period of training it probably seemed like an eternity, but looking back now, I venture to say it seems but yesterday. I wonder if any of you have thought “I wouldn't have missed it for the world, but I wouldn’t go through it again for all the tea in China”? It is all behind you now, and your graduation is a milestone that you will always cherish and remember. When a young girl decides to become a nurse, I like to think (and I be­lieve) that she is prompted in her decision by a desire to serve, and that she doesn’t look upon it solely as a means of earning her livelihood — and what an avenue for service! To be qualified to minister to the sick, to alleviate pain and suffering and to bring comfort and happiness to your fellow creatures provides an avenue for service than which there is no finer or nobler. I would like you to know that the Board of Management and the officers, the Lady Superintendent and the staff have your interest and welfare very much at heart, particularly during your student days, and the warmest wish of all of us is that in being a credit to your chosen profession you will reap all of the satisfaction that you have hoped for, and that you so richly deserve.
