The insect-visitors on the flowers of the plum, peach, persimmon, grape, orange, pear, loquat and pawpaw were investigated, and shown in Table 1. The insects belonging to Diptera, Hymenoptera, Coleoptera, Lepidoptera, Mecoptera and Hemiptera visited the flowers of the fruittrees in Japan. The orders and species of insects which visited abundantly and seemed to have a rather intimate relation to the pollination of these fruit-trees are summarized as follows : Generally, the visitors are much active from 10 : 00 a. m. to 14 : 00 p. m. The honey bees and Eristalomyia tenax usually visited four to six flowers per one minute.
