Picasso\u27s Guernica is one of the most iconic artworks of the twentieth century and consequently it is also one of the most speculated and analyzed. Through tracing the work through four specific time periods from its creation in 1937 to the present, and drawing from the numerous writers who have already picked this painting apart, I intend to explain Guernica\u27s importance and significance in the modern world.
