A beam-driven ramp-up scenario for JT-60SA is analyzed with respect to stability of pressure- and current-driven MHD modes. It is found that within 1 second of the start of negative-ion-based neutral beam (N-NB) injection, the plasma is unstable to ideal ballooning modes as well as multiple kink-tearing modes. The relaxed profiles are computed and implications for integrated modeling are discussed.Satellite Tokamak Project, Integrated Project Team 5th Research Coordination Meeting (RCM-5
