In order to determine Re in river water using Q-ICP-MS, a simple and rapid separation method was applied. Re was concentrated from 100 mL river water using a TEVA resin column. Almost 100% recovery was found throughout the method as determined with Re-185 spike. When HR-ICP-MS was used for direct determination due to its lower detection limit for Re, the analysis results showed good agreement. The determined Re values for Japanese river waters ranged from 0.9-8.7 pg/mL
