The total charge changing and partial projectile fragment production cross sections of 471 A MeV 56Fe on C, Al and CH2 targets are investigated using CR-39 plastic nuclear track detector. It is found that the total charge changing cross sections are consistent with the prediction from BradtePeters semi-empirical formula. The partial cross sections for projectile fragment production agree with the results from other experiments and show a significant enhancement for the fragments with even-Z. Finally, the partial cross sections of fragments with charge 5 Z 9 are firstly investigated in present paper
